View of Lake Tichigan in the Fall

This is the view we shared from the back yard of John and Sally's home at Lake Tichigan. What good memories of an autumn vacation, cool crisp days in November and time with good friends. I painted this from a photo I took and this is my first attempt at painting reflections on water.

My birthday flowers

I'm still working on the birthday flowers, but also tried to paint the white bird of paradise in the back garden-can't seem to find the pic right now..

Grey day in Kailua

I'm still trying to paint Kailua Beach - this time from Kalama. When I went out on Wednesday morning, my other painting really didn't look good so I went home and tried again from a photo I took. This is my experiment with masking fluid to show the waves. Maybe I'll try again on better paper.

Birthday beauties

Tomorrow is my birthday. Look at the lovely flowers that can inspire me to paint more florals.
From my sister and brother-in-law, a lovely tropical bouquet. From my husband, red roses of love.

The monstera leaves are painted from a picture I took and the tiare (single gardenia) is painted from real life.
